Description

The Sparkman & Stephens Classic Yacht Kialoa II presents a rare opportunity to own one of the original ‘Maxi’ yachts, renowned for her impressive pedigree. Built from lightweight aluminum, Kialoa II was engineered to dominate the maxi ocean racing category and is now ready for her next adventure. She would be ideally suited for a family looking to go blue water cruising in style on a yacht guaranteed to turn heads. In her early years, she achieved significant success, winning major ocean races including the 1965 Transpac Race, securing second place in the 1969 Fastnet Race, and taking line honors in the 1971 Sydney-Hobart Race.

The current owners have meticulously maintained Kialoa II. She underwent a full refit and received a new suite of North sails in 2016/17. In 2018, a new Whale Spars aluminum mainmast and boom were installed. Further enhancements in 2022 included new standing and running rigging, a new mainsail, and fresh topside paint. Most recently, in 2023, her hull was treated with International Micron (black) Propspeed.

Kialoa II is ideal for competitive ocean racing, classic yacht regattas, and ambitious world cruising.
