Matt has spent the last 35 years in the marine industry in various forms on his journey to become Founder, CEO and Sales Director of S6 Multihulls, from flotilla captain to yacht master instructor, from race yacht skipper to charter captain with a brief spell in London to study Law. yachting runs deep, its in his DNA, Matt often says that even if he won the lottery he’d still probably be doing exactly what he’s doing now… talking about boats with people who share his love and passion for all things boating and sailing. Since stopping professional sailing in 2012 Matt & his wife Lizzie founded diYachting a specialist charter and management company for yachts 60 to 100 feet, the “sweet spot” as Matt puts it! 10 Years ago Matt started to work more on the sale of new and brokerage yachts and since 2018 he has branched off to found and now continue to run S6 Multihulls (formerly S6 Marine).
Matt built his entire career racing and sailing performance monohulls. There was even a time when the idea of a catamaran would have raised an eyebrow. It all changed when in 2007 Matt & Lizzie delivered a new Lagoon 560 across the Mediterranean. Everything Changed for them and their mind was opened to the new way of living afloat enjoying the space, comfort, stability and the freedom to sail and live differently. By 2015, Matt had sold his first Catamaran, a Lagoon 52f, the market was changing and catamarans were taking the centre stage, soon after this Matt signed his first Sunreef 80 new build project, and a new chapter was firmly underway.

Matt personally manages each project working directly with shipyards, surveyors, suppliers and captains to ensure your yacht reflects your exact vision. Matt knows how the shipyards work, he knows when to push them and when to to let them coast, he visits regularly to meet with engineers and designers and works closely with surveyors throughout a new build or refit project.
Matt’s no-compromise attitude drives every project, ensuring quality, accountability and transparency at every step. Building a new yacht is fraught with obstacles, but none that cant be overcome with expert project management. We have a proven record of delivering yachts with minimal defects and outstanding finish quality. Being the “eyes on the ground” for the owners as well as advising and reporting every step of the way to ensure a seamless and on time delivery.
New Build project management is included for free when you buy your new yacht through us but if you’re already committed to a purchase with any manufacturer and are now looking for an expert project manager to represent you then we offer stand alone project management services to ensure your new large catamaran whether it be from Sunreef, Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot, or any other shipyard is exactly as you envisaged.

There is no better way to decide which yacht is right for you than to spend real time aboard. A one-hour sea trial or a busy boat show visit tells you very little. You need to experience life onboard, under sail and engine, at anchor and in marinas, asleep and awake. To help facilitate this, we can arrange a charter on a yacht of the same brand or model you are considering through our sister company diYachting, run by Lizzie Abbiss and her experienced team specialising in luxury charters worldwide.
But our involvement doesn’t stop once you sign the contract, or even once you take delivery.
Once you take ownership of your new yacht we won’t leave you to fend for yourself, we can continue to support you even after handover and offer access to many services for crewed yachts over 65 feet.
